Terms of Service

Last updated June 25, 2026

These terms govern your use of DigiSig, operated by SoftSplit d.o.o., Zagreb, Croatia. By using the service you agree to them.

What DigiSig does

DigiSig lets two people sign a PDF together. Documents are encrypted on your device; we never receive the decryption key and cannot read your documents. You receive a signed PDF with a tamper-evident audit trail.

Legal effect of signatures

DigiSig produces electronic signatures within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 (eIDAS). Under Article 25(1), an electronic signature cannot be denied legal effect or admissibility as evidence solely because it is electronic. DigiSig signatures are, by default, simple electronic signatures (SES), engineered to provide strong, tamper-evident, cryptographically linked evidence.

DigiSig does not provide qualified electronic signatures (QES), and our signatures are not automatically equivalent to a handwritten signature. Some documents require a qualified electronic signature, notarisation, or another specific form by law (for example, certain real-estate transfers, some employment terminations, wills, and other formal acts). DigiSig is not suitable for those documents, and you are responsible for checking the legal requirements that apply to you.

Your responsibilities

  • You confirm you are entitled to sign, and to invite the other party to sign, the document.
  • You provide accurate information (such as the signer's email address).
  • You will not use DigiSig for unlawful purposes or to upload content you have no right to share.

Free service and paid options

The core signing service is free. Optional paid features (such as a certified copy with an independently verifiable timestamp) are offered at the prices shown at the time of purchase, including applicable VAT. Because a certified copy is generated immediately, you agree that performance begins at once and that the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply once the certified copy has been produced.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and limit our liability for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Croatia and the European Union. DigiSig is available in all 24 official EU languages; if anything differs between translations, the English version is authoritative.
